If anyone has a suggestion for a workout recorder program, feel free to recommend. I do like the old fashioned dead tree method but it would be nice to have it in 0s and 1s for graphing purposes.
I just haven't found something I really like yet. Hmph. |

Interesting Though we do have plenty of students that take CS in middle and high school. |

Forgot to mention that I broke my deadlifting record with 4 reps at 135lb! I'm not sure I will get up to 1.5x bodyweight before I need to start maintaining but this was a nice goal to reach. |

Zucchini or Carrot Bread Sounds interesting but haven't made it yet. From DiseaseProof Blog
20 dates 1 cup unsweetened soymilk 2 very ripe bananas (3 if small) 1 tablespoon raw sunflower seeds 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed 2 cups quick oats (blended into flour) 2 cups quick oats 2 heaping teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup raisins 2 cups shredded zucchini (or carrots) 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Blend dates, soy milk, bananas, sunflower seeds, and flaxseed until smooth. Add all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Mix well (more oats may be needed to thicken mixture). Spread in baking pan 1 1/2 inches thick (rub pan with a little blended oats to help prevent sticking). Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes then cover edges with foil (like you would a pie crust). Continue baking until golden brown and center is firm. Serves 12 or more, depending on how cut it. |

Drainpipe Rescue #2 I was able to capture this guy/gal today with the help of a cat trap. Let's hope he warms up a bit for a nice forever home family. |

I am the cheese I had to bike home and I had already eaten all of my snacks. My stomach was growling impatiently. In a moment of desperation, I checked the lab fridge, and lo! There was a string cheese and an orange. Figuring the fat would make my stomach happier for a longer period of time, I ate it. Moments later, I realized why I hadn't eaten a string cheese in quite some time. The plastic taste became more and more evident with my mastication. Plastic. cheese. Well it did the trick anyway. |

Up in the air "Up in the air I go flying again, Up in the air and down!" Some of you may recognize this from The Swing, a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson. I use it here to illustrate the night's events. It snowed today, a thin frosty white decoration upon the environment. I left on my bike as usual after working to a late hour. Biking in the snow was nothing new to me; I had several times already this year. What I did not realize in my haste, was that the beautiful snow had covered an icy thick crust from the hail which had fallen earlier this morning. Like any accident, things are always a blur. I know my rear wheel skidded out and I began falling. Somehow I hopped the top tube and landed directly on the top of my right kneecap to the left of the bike. The pain exploded through my torso and I fell forward catching myself with my wrist and helmet. I joke and say my teflon-coated pants slid me further down the sidewalk. My body instantly felt nauseous in trying to deal with the chemicals flooding my bloodstream. I hastily got to my feet and steadied myself. Being cold, I tried to keep moving and decided to get to the bus stop as I didn't want to risk any further joint damage. Sadly, Frank's front wheel & brake seem to have gotten misaligned and I am hoping it is just out of place in the drops and not a bent rim. I pushed my bike home, chastised by Nature and chagrined with my poor judgment of cycling conditions. Up in the air, indeed. |
